Laid Back Bikes
Laid-back's David Gardiner is a real enthusiast for recumbent bikes, though you'll also find him ferrying things around Edinburgh on Mike Burrows' sturdy "8-freight" cargo-bike from time to time.
Since 2005 he has been sharing his passion through his dealership and the recumbent tours and test-rides he offers. Laid-Back Bikes started out operating from The Bicycle Works - a popular and successful Edinburgh bike shop - until late 2011 when it moved into its very own premises nearby.
Based in the picturesque and historic city of Edinburgh, a visit to Laid-back can be a very pleasant holiday or weekend break. Tours to the coast, Forth bridges, and surrounding area range from three to five hours, and offer a fantastic opportunity to try something new, whether you are a newbie to the recumbent world, or a signed-up member of the 'bent brigade. David also offers free test-rides in the Meadows cycle path.
David has extensive experience and knowledge of the different recumbent brands and models available: low-racers, high-racers, trikes, under- or over-seat steering, you name it.
His expertise is grounded in his own familiarity pedalling recumbents, tandems and other specialised cycles himself, whether for work or pleasure, so you're sure to have your questions answered and find the machine that's right for you. Laid-back now also sells Circe's versatile new range of family and load-carrying tandems.
Contact Laid-Back to book a tour or reserve a demo bike. People travelling to see specific models should check first.
