On the 2nd of May it's back again - the first Leontien ladies ride of the year! Dutch cycling legend and new face of Montego Leontien van Moorsel started these events in 2005 with her husband, inspired by the beautiful landscape of the Dutch countryside. For all women, regardless of age, ambition or type of bike, these rides are designed to be healthy and enjoyable at the same time. This May 22,000 women are expected to take part!

In May 2005 our first Montego bicycle came through the assembly line. And now, we are proud to announce, we are working on our fifth collection.
A lot has changed since the beginning. Montego has become a fully recognised and popular bicycle brand in the Netherlands, for sale by more than 500 dealers. The basic principle, however, is still the same. These are high-quality bicycles with an individual design for a competitive price.
Some background: in 2005 we started on a small scale, with a limited number of models. The main goal was to launch a line of bicycles with a unique look. We sought inspiration for colours and design in the fashion and interior design industries (amongst others), and we found exactly what we were looking for!
In 2006 the collection was further refined. We started fine-tuning the trend which was chosen in 2005 and began to work with themes, which gave the collection a consistent appearance.
This philosophy was carried through to such an extent in 2007 that frames exclusively designed for Montego were introduced for the first time.
From 2008 on the collection became even more recognizable, mainly through the use of bright colours and daring patterns. As well as this, a specially designed line of accessories for women's bicycles was introduced, including matching bags and child seats.
2009 has been Montego's most successful year so far. A number of new models were added to the collection and the Dutch cycling legend Leontien van Moorsel was recruited as an ambassador for Montego in January 2009. Mainly thanks to her joining us, we have made even more progress regarding exposure and brand awareness.
In 2010 we launched the Barrow - a new twist on an old concept. Montego has grown up and continues to show what it is capable of.
Montego is ready for the future!
