Exhibitor Profile: Tange Design
While the world around us seems to be changing with increasing speed, there is one thing that remains constant - the dream held in the heart.
In 1920, Yasujiro Tange formed the Tange Manufacturing Co., to produce bicycle forks. Over the 1950s and 60s, Tange began to manufacture butted tubing for bicycles, and then tubing products for non-bicycle uses. Tange then began to expand into other products - tube-type forks in 1965, and other components such as seat stays, dropouts and chain stays in 1974, resulting in the formation of Tange Seiki Ltd. in 1979 as an independent headset producing offshoot. In 1980, the founder of the Tange Manufacturing company, Yasujiro Tange, passed away - but his company continues to manufacture high technology bicycle components, and in 2010, Yasujiro Tange complete bikes have been introduced into the market.
Our dream at Tange is to apply technology in a way that can help us to make better performing bicycles. We are on a continuous quest to develop new and better forks, frame tubing, and materials that can make the bicycle more enjoyable to ride and own.
Our dream is to help make bicycles that can truly enrich our lives and the society we live in.It states our philosophy that, while the past is important, it is the future which holds the key. We hope to create that future with a new tradition of excellence from Tange.
At Tange, we know and love the bicycles. We have been producing bicycle frame tubing and fork assemblies for over 86 years. The sport of cycling and the bicycle itself are undergoing rapid change. Along with dramatic advances in cycling technology, the bicycle is being gradually but surely recognized for the contribution it can make to solving the problems of pollution and congestion in our cities.
The development and manufacture of quality bicycle frame tubing is a difficult technological challenge. The best tubing must answer the conflicting demands for light weight and high strength in relation to the specific application of the frame.
With over 86 years of specialized experience in the development and manufacture of quality tubing, we at Tange are responding to this challenge. We are making a continuing effort to improving cycling performance through intensive research into tube shapes, new materials, unique composite construction techniques, and advanced manufacturing methods.
This is Tange - a company on a continuing search for excellence.
