Exhibitor Profile: Maderna Cycle Systems

MCS Maderna Cycle Systems develops concepts and new vehicles in the field of transportation design. We provide consultation and development all the way from initial concept through ‘ready for production' prototypes to full production. Our clients are large or small businesses and even private individuals.

Maderna Cycle Systems was founded in 1996. The goal of our company is to find solutions for individual travel, particularly in the urban environment; to develop products which make the car dispensable for the sake of our health and the environment, while maintaining independent mobility.

The original idea was to develop a small bicycle which would make it easier to cover distances in an urban setting, such as getting to the underground, or simply commuting. The bicycle had to be fast and simple, and, with a simple wrist movement, be able to be folded into a small space. The rider had to be able to spring onto a departing train or bus!

From these beginnings, our first saddle-less bike/scooter, the company has developed a range of specialised cycles, including a cargo bicycle for use in the cocoa plantations of Tanzania, and an electric bike for whizzing around town, combining the advantages of the motor car with the freedom and environmental credentials of the bicycle.
