Get Cycling is a Community Interest Company based in York. Our aim is simple: to promote cycling, in all its varieties, for leisure, transport, health, happiness and the environment. We supply cycling events and programmes: from schools events to major festivals. We also establish cycle commuting clubs for businesses and local authorities. We have been doing this for more than ten years, all over the country.

From our base on the UK’s cycle path network we also sell, repair and rent out cycles of all shapes and sizes.

We have hundreds of cycles for sale, and we believe we hold the most extensive and varied in the country.

In addition to the usual pedal powered machines you’d expect to find in a high street store, like Street Bikes, Electric Bikes, Folding Bikes, Mountain Bikes and Road Bikes we are also experts in the more unusual and exotic such as Family, Cargo, Recumbent and tandem bicycles and tricycles. Over the years our team has also amassed a great deal of specialist knowledge in the area of ‘special needs’ provision. Our range of cycles for people with disabilities is second to none.

For those on a budget our stock often includes a wide range of slightly used machines, which come from our cycle-to-work schemes fleet. (The choice of cycles we show in our on-line shop can never be up to date, so please phone for availability and advice).

We are not a normal bike shop. We wanted to bring the same levels of inspiration and innovation to cycle retail as we did to the world of cycle promotion and so we offer some unexpected services: Our full service repair workshop offers a collection and delivery service for sick bikes. We can even provide you with a courtesy bike whilst yours is out of action.

We are a Cyclescheme dealer, which means you can buy from us at a 30% to 40% discount if your employer has signed up with Cyclescheme. We can even deliver bikes and accessories to anywhere in the UK.

The shop’s proximity to the Cycle Network is perfect for leisurely rides into the historical City of York or away from town into the nearby countryside. Our large rental fleet is kept very busy during the summer months.
