Whilst the low-step-over and compact design give Circe bikes excellent ergonomics and functionality for two people, they also enable the tandem to be easily converted into a single bike for child and freight carrying. By removing the stoker seat post and handlebar, a special rack designed to accept two child seats, multiple panniers or large luggage sacks can be installed: bikes for all reasons.

Exhibitor Profile: Circe Cycles
Based in Cambridge, the team at Circe (pronounced sir-kay) is passionate about bikes and enjoys using them for transportation and for leisure. They are committed to enabling greater use of bicycles and are constantly looking at ways to make bikes more accessible, and more acceptable, for everyday use.
Cambridge benefits from the highest level of cycling anywhere in the UK and such an environment offers daily inspiration into the best ways that bikes can be integrated into lives and lifestyles; any day in the city, ingenious solutions can be seen to make conventional bicycles work in the ways they are needed.
With that background, Circe is perfectly placed to design bikes that fit into real-life situations. Commuting, shopping, load carrying, child carrying, people transportation; there are lots of great theories and lots of brilliant designs to get people riding more, but there is nothing to beat actually seeing where and how different people use their bikes.
Their first product, the Helios, is a multi-function bicycle designed to complement and facilitate a modern lifestyle. It is designed to address a number of familiar cycling problems - an integrated solution to transporting two people that at the same time works as a child or freight transporter.
That is not all, as well as their utilitarian aspirations, the team at Circe wants cycling to be fun. They want their products to reflect their passion, and their bikes to be a joy to own and to ride.
The Circe Helios tandem is featured in Cyclorama book#1.
