About Us

Cyclorama is an international undertaking, with its headquarters in York, England. The people behind Cyclorama are Company of Cyclists, a social enterprise founded in 2000 to promote the cycling message in innovative ways, and backed by over 150 cyclist-supporter-shareholders from the UK, USA, Germany, Holland and Australia. The task: to promote the cycling message in innovative ways.

Company of Cyclists began by running bike try-out events, bike loan programmes, cycling holidays and publishing cycling guides. A short while ago all these activities were transferred to a formally constituted community interest company, Get Cycling. This left us free to invest in Cyclorama as our main task. To see some of the pioneering things for which Company of Cyclists has been responsible, visit www.getcycling.org.uk.

Most of the people behind Get Cycling and Cyclorama were also behind the Encyclopedia buyers' guide and Bike Culture magazine, published between 1993 and 2000. These printed publications, published in German, English and American editions, gave enormous impetus to free-thinking cyclists worldwide, inspiring the birth of many successful enterprises such as the Special Bikes Show in Germany, the cycling charity Cycle Magic in England, and the cycle park in Flushing Meadow, New York. The concept remains good, and the digital age brings new potential. It is time to take up the challenge again!

Testimonials

Cities have existed for thousands of years, and for all but the most recent 100 years, automobiles were not a part of any urban vision. Now, they are the dominant feature of urban life and cities are designed to accommodate cars and not people. What's the alternative? Human-powered vehicles are one alternative.

Cyclorama and Bike Culture are essential sources for the stories, imagery and product information that will keep cycles of all types a part of future urban transportation systems."

Steve Meyer,
President, Main Street Pedicabs

"I must give you respect as I believe Cyclorama provides an excellent portal for showcasing their product and we would be honored to become part of your website"
